Why I Started BATE: Raleigh

When I started BATE: Raleigh, it wasn’t to be edgy—it was to fill a void. I wanted to create a space where men could come together, affirm their erotic energy, and not feel pressure to perform, impress, or hook up. Just be present.

Inspired by traditional Jacks clubs like Austin Jacks, Motor City Jacks, and NY Jacks, just to name a few. BATE: Raleigh follows a time-honored model: masturbation-only, men-only, and grounded in mutual respect. It’s a space where the focus is on connection, not competition. Where solo and group experiences are welcomed and where the energy is raw, real, and judgment-free.

I’ve spent time in traditional cruising spaces, and while they serve a purpose, they often feel rushed or performative. You’re either in or you’re out—there’s rarely space to linger, breathe, or build connection. BATE: Raleigh was my way of offering something more intentional. A space where pleasure is paced, and the vibe is about camaraderie, not conquest.

Why masturbation-only? Because it changes the room. There’s no need to “win” anyone over. It puts everyone on the same page, encourages body acceptance, and removes performance anxiety. It’s about being seen and accepted without expectations.

BATE: Raleigh isn’t just about getting off—it’s about community. I’ve seen men walk in nervous and walk out more confident. I’ve watched strangers connect, and first-timers become regulars. There’s something powerful about coming together in a space where pleasure isn’t hidden or shamed.

This is a space for men who are tired of pretending that this part of themselves doesn’t matter. We’re not here to impress—we’re here to express. And as long as there’s a need, BATE: Raleigh will be here.
